iPod Compression Rates
The iPod plays video at a rate of 30 frames per second with a 320x240 resolution. A variety of compressions rates are available using the QuickTime architecture. Data rates up to 2.5 Mbs are common. With a high-speed Internet connection, you can download videos for the iPod from iTunes.

Cell Phone Compression Rates
Cell phone video is compressed to between 128x96 to 320x240, 12.5 -25 frames per second, bit rate between 128 and 500 kbps and a MPEG-1/3GPP format, Flash video content can also be utilized on certain cell phones. Flash files are smaller and more efficient than streaming video files.
